I must keep a record of everyone I speak with. I do not use this for dictation as it was designed. I use 128MB Memory Sticks and they give me over 12 hours. The batteries also last 12 hours, continuously. I wrote down everything that you need to save. I naturally do not keep everything I record. I have had no problem with it. It is a work horse.Solid known. You can record longer than 12 hours if you keep changing the battery! Slide the memory stick into your notebook and transfer all files. NOT for MUSIC ! For SPOKEN VOICE. YES IT IS PERFECT FOR CLASS. I am planning on buying another one..
